mashonalandPicNomads Golf was first established in South Africa 1960. As its members were drawn from various clubs and played their regular competitions on a variety of different courses, the Nomads name seemed particularly appropriate.

Nomads Golf Flourished in South Africa and a club was established in Zimbabwe. There are now three clubs on Zimbabwe which operate under the umbrella of the controlling Zimbabwe body.

Nomads Golf in Zimbabwe holds its National Tournament annually and has field of up to 240 players.

The Nomads Movement has also spread to Botswana, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and Swaziland. Today there are close to 3000 Nomads spread around our clubs, all committed to our ideals of benefiting the game of golf and, in the process, raising substantial funding for causes that lend support for those less fortunate than ourselves.

                                CAPTAIN’S NEWSLETTER

Borrowdale Brooke Game 11 on 13th October, 2019.

Dear Fellow Nomads,

Greetings to all Nomads and their families. Those of you who played at Borrowdale Brooke, you will agree with me that the golf course was spectacular and immaculate everywhere and in the best condition we have seen it in for some years.

We had a field of 118 players with 3 prospectives and zero no-shows. Thank you very much for your support.

The Borrowdale Brooke game was kindly sponsored by Hilmax Engineering, represented by our own members, Pascal Musavaya and Passmore Dzengwe.

The Nomads Certificate of Appreciation for the Hilmax sponsorship was presented to Pascal Musavaya.

Monthly Sponsors

We are also very grateful to our platinum sponsors Glenbrynth, Golden Pilsener, and Nyaradzo Life Assurance Company.

Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club.

Many thanks go to the General Manager of Borrowdale Brooke Golf club, Simon Herring and his team for all the hard work they put into the club and in particular the course.

The Captain of Borrowdale Brooke, Jeffery Muteiwa expressed his gratitude for hosting the Nomads on behalf of his club.

 Thank Yous.

To all those manning the registration desk, including our Nomads ladies Alison and Judy, being short-staffed, you coped admirably. We can never say thank you enough for your contribution to our monthly meetings. You really make it happen for us, the registration, compilation of results, raffles etc.

The ladies’ dedication to Nomads, particularly for no remuneration, is amazing and we are truly blessed to have these ladies looking after us at every monthly game.

Thanks again to Honorary Member, Gordon MacKenzie and treasurer, Thabani Dhliwayo for helping at the registration desk.

To our starters, waking up early morning to see us tee-off on time. Honorary Life Member Greg Pozzo, we are forever grateful for your contribution to our great Club.

 ON THE SICK LIST.

Ben Ajidah is almost fully recovered as we saw him at the Warren Hills game. We wish him a speedy recovery and are hoping that he will come back to play golf very soon.

Please keep Ben in your thoughts and prayers.

Should anyone of you know a member of Nomads who is sick, please kindly inform the Captain or any of the Committee members.

FINES MASTER

Doug Jaffrey gave a very good fines session.

Many thanks to Doug for a fantastic, humorous and thoroughly enjoyable fines’ session.

We very much appreciate your effort and support to our great Club.

Gentlemen we are always

looking for a new face to do a fines session at one of our games, so please if you feel you can extract some money from our fellow Nomads and still leave them with a smile on their face, which isn’t a difficult job, then please speak to our Public Relations Officer, Shane Zangel.

Every man if a piece of the continent; a part of the main.

Any man’s death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind

And, therefore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.”
