Dear Fellow Nomads

Herewith my report for our monthly game held at Chapman on 14th May 2017.

We had a total of 128 players, 4 prospectives and 6 guests and unfortunately we had one no show. 17 early leavers were recorded. Thank you all for supporting our monthly meeting and above all for attending prize giving which shows respect for our sponsors and proceedings of the day. Your committee is very grateful for your support.

STARTERS- Greg Pozzo, Rod Bennett and Gordon Mackenzie gentlemen we are privileged to have you amongst us and your contribution is immense. You ensure that our day starts as per our plans and you really do a fantastic job in this regard. We thank you sincerely for your effort and we are forever grateful.

NOMADS LADIES- Alison, Lyn and Judy what can I say? Your service to Nomads Mashonaland is invaluable and we can never say thank you enough for what you do for us. We really treasure what you do for us particularly so on Mother's Day. You are just special thank you very much for your sacrifice and all you do for Nomads.

CHAPMAN GOLF CLUB MANAGEMENT AND STAFF- You will all agree with me that the course was in a fantastic condition, service and food was good and we sincerely thank them for the work and effort put in preparations to ensure that our meeting was a success.
To Chapman Captain Themba Sibanda and his Vice Justice Udzembwe a special thank you for joining us, and spending the whole day with us. We hope that you had an enjoyable day.

INDUCTION

Sam Muchenje was inducted at Chapman. He was proposed by Francis Bwanya and seconded by Elwyn Mudungwe. We welcome Sam into Nomads and wish him a long and mutually beneficial stay in our elite Club.

FINES SESSION
Elwyn weldone for a short and very hilarious fines session. I noticed that almost all the people you fined were paying with smiles on their faces. I am sure some of your jokes will be remembered for a very long time to come.

Thank you my brother for your contribution to Nomads, it is very much appreciated by us all.

CHARITY DAY

Our Vice Captain Julian Borcherds and his Charity Day Committee are having a Night Golf Tournament  to raise money for his Charity Day. This tournament will take place on Friday 2nd June 2017 at Royal Harare Golf Club, registration will commence at 5pm and play will starts at 6pm shot gun start.

The competition is a four ball alliance.Entry $160,00 per team/ $40,00 per player. This will entitle you to a night golf pack, curry dinner and a welcome glow win.
This is promising to be a very exciting event being held for a very good course ,so please let us all support it. Like I have always said this is what Nomads is all about, if you can't play you can sponsor the event in one way or the other.

NOMADS HOUSE SOCIAL
As usual on Friday 26th May 2017 being the last Friday of the month the FDFF social is on at Nomads House from 4:30pm till late Gordon tells me that this time it's called Friday Drinks with Family and Friends. He will be there waiting to welcome you all, there will be entertainment and food.
Once again special thank you to those of you who have been supporting this initiative.

Let us go in numbers and enjoy the evening with Family and Friends. The facility is brilliant and is there for us to enjoy. You do not have to worry about cash a swipe machine is available for your convenience.

May I take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation and say thank you to all those who have a hand in the up keep of the house ,you are doing a fantastic job it is very much appreciated by us all at Nomads Mashonaland, please keep it up.

AWAY GAME 2 and 3
For the benefit of those of you who plan ahead our second and third away games are scheduled for 25/06/18 and 18/11/17 at Bindura and Montclair Hotel and Casino respectively. Our PRO Theo Kumalo is working very hard to ensure that these games are successful.

We are investigating possibilities of hiring a bus for the Nyanga game which can make the trip cheaper and very exciting if we get the numbers. I should be able to give you some figures in my next Newsletter. The Montclair Hotel and Casino Management have given us some very good deals including sponsoring the game. We therefore look forward to your support as usual.

CHAPMAN PRIZE WINNERS
Congratulations to all the winners at Chapman , all the results are now posted on our Nomads Website. We trust and hope that you are all able to view the results, but if you have any problems or comments please do not hesitate to let us know.

Meanwhile a special mention to Mike Linforth and Keith Smith for shooting 38 points and of course Andrew Mbinda Champion of the day on a fantastic 39 points. Andrew wins the Montclair Hotel and Casino two nights for two bed and breakfast. Well played gentlemen and goodbye to those good handicaps.
