ROYAL GAME (GOLD CUP 2017) – 3rd DECEMBER 2017

Dear Fellow Nomads,
Compliments of the new season to you and your families I hope that your all have had a good break and that you are all ready for a great 2018!! We had a total of 137 players, 1 prospective, 4 guests and NIL no shows, let us keep this up. We thank you all for playing and attending prize giving which shows your support and respect for our sponsors.

On behalf of Mashonaland Nomads I would like to extend our most grateful thanks to Wesley Chingwena of Croco Motors for sponsoring our annual Gold Cup prize giving to the value of $3,000.00 this was absolutely fantastic. Royal Harare Golf Club
Thank you to the Captain of Royal, Caleb Tapfuma, his deputy Dumi Mabhena and Royal Harare manager Ian Mathieson and all his staff for all all their hard work that they have put into Royal Harare. I am sure you will all agree with me that the course was in superb condition and that we all had enjoyable day.

The check in table was as usual ably manned by our Nomads Ladies Alison, Lyn, Alana and Judy. We sincerely thank them for all their hard work in getting us through the table and making sure that all scores are captured correctly and that the prizes sheet is finished on time.
Thank you very much for your time and patience, we are forever very grateful for what you do for Nomads.

We were also honoured to be joined by the following ladies Muchaneta Chikwari, Bev Holmes, Claire McMullen, Zona Peters, Charlene Baptista, Shirley and Natasha Jonker. Thank you ladies for kindly gracing our day with your presence.

Many thanks for our starters on the day Honorary Life Member Greg Pozzo, Honarary Member Gordon Mackenzie and Rod Bennett, gentlemen thank you for giving up your Sunday to be with us and we appreciate your contribution to Nomads.

Fines Session
National Chairman Chris Posthumus had a humorous fines session which got everybody in the room laughing. Well done Chris for a brilliant fines session, it was nice to watch all those who paid had a smile on their faces, it was great.

Gary Player & Website
Entries forms for Gary Player shall be sent out soon. There is no entry fee for this competition and all Nomads members are encouraged to participate, this is a good way for members to play and socialize outside of Nomads monthly games.

Gentlemen please utalize our website www.zimbabwenomads.co.zw all results, news, handicaps and the various gold cup qualifications can been seen on the website, Richard Morgan does a splendid job in running the website. We also have a facebook page Nomads Mashonaland please feel free to tag us in any of your pictures that you take at our monthly games.

Overdue Membership Subscriptions
We note with regret that upto now some of our members have not yet paid their annual subscriptions which are now long overdue. We therefore strongly appeal to these members to please regularize their membership as they will not be allowed to play because they are members not in good standing.

-NEXT GAME- Royal Harare 14th January 2018 pm game.

-NOMADS HOUSE BAR- Nomads House Bar will open from 4:30pm till late every last Friday of the month with effect from January 2018. A swipe machine will be made available to facilitate this initiative. The Barman Honorary Member Gordon Mackenzie is looking forward to welcoming you, your wives, families and friends. As usual we look forward to your support.

-SA NATIONALS- 3rd – 9th March 2018 will be held at the Royal Cape in Cape Town Nomads Zimbabwe were given 22 slots Denis Tapson received 44 entries. We had 31 entries from Mashonaland and so far 12 have qualified and have been duly notified.

-AWAY GAME 1- Our first away game is scheduled for 25th February 2017 at Marondera Golf Club so please diarize and support bearing in mind that you get some points which are used for selection to Nationals whenever the qualification system is used.
